As a board certified psychiatrist with 20 years experience, I have seen hundreds of patients with a broad range of issues in both the community and academic settings. Currently, I'm focusing my practice on treating depression, anxiety, trauma-related issues, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder and women's issues.

I believe in providing holistic, collaborative, and evidence-based care. We will work together to promote your optimal mental health by exploring the ideal combination of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology suited to your particular challenges. If medications are indicated, I will collaborate with you to determine the best option to address your individual needs. I maintain a conservative approach when using medications, and will prescribe them only when clinically appropriate.
Background: After receiving my medical degree from George Washington University, I completed my residency at Tulane University, serving as chief resident. I held multiple academic positions at Tulane University including Director of Partial Hospitalization Program and Co-Director of the Residency Program. I moved to San Diego in 2007 and joined the clinical faculty at UCSD for a few years followed by a clinical practice with Senior Medical Associates.
